Men who are tall and skinny, or just skinny may find themselves in no man's land when it comes to shopping for clothes that look good on skinny body types. The common perception that most clothes are made keeping in mind the average body type makes giving fashion tips for skinny men a difficult topic. If you are one of them and have the question "Which clothes should I wear?" read on for woman's take on what is hot and what is not when it comes to choosing the right clothes for a skinny frame.

Black leather/synthetic leather jacket

A black leather jacket looks best on a skinny body type, there's no doubt about that. Don't you all remember the famous rock stars who've donned the leather jacket on their skinny frames? The key is to pick a leather jacket is the right size. One fashion tip that you must remember is that a black leather jacket is straight which will probably enhance your slim body frame. That's okay as long as it is not too tight and you carry it off with a straight back and broad shoulders.

Prefer Shirts over t-shirts

For men with a skinny frame, shirts tend to look better than t-shirt. Of course, it would be impractical to put on a shirt 24/7, but you should keep this in mind when you next go out on a date and are thinking "What should I wear?" Put on a good shirt and walk with pride because you are blessed with a body type that most men and women crave to have!

Avoid tight shorts

Whether you are going to the gym or to the courts for a game with the boys, tight shorts for men are best avoided on skinny legs. Tight short will instantly make you look slimmer, and that's not what we are going for, are we?

Avoid tight fitting shirts and t-shirts

Keeping in mind the same principle that we talked about in tight shorts, tight fitting shirts and t-shirts are best avoided. Another important thing that you want to keep in mind is the length of your t-shirts and shirts. Make sure they are not too short because that will only accentuate your skinny waist and lean body frame. Unless you have bulky shoulders, this is a strict no-no when it comes to men's fashion.

Avoid v-neck sweaters in winter

Another common fashion blunder that many men with a skinny body type make is to wear a v-neck sweater in winter. In fact, any v-neck clothing item for skinny men is a fashion blunder. If you have a skinny frame, you'd want to wear a round neck sweater that accentuates your shoulder blades, rather than expose them.

Slim and straight fit denims

For men with a skinny body, skinny jeans are like a double edged sword. If not carried off the right way, skinny jeans can sometimes lean towards giving a feminine look. You would also want to avoid extra baggy or loose denims unless you are Eminem. The perfect fitting denims for skinny men are likes of the Levi's 501 which are not too skinny and not too loose. Even the Levi's 505 and 514 will look good. If you really want to be bold and make an out of the ordinary fashion statement, try donning the Levi's men's 510 super skinny jeans. Be warned though, this look is definitely not for the faint of heart to carry off.

Avoid clothing that is too loose

A major misconception that many skinny men seem to have is that bigger clothing will make them look bigger. Nope, that is certainly not the case. In fact, an oversized shirt on a skinny frame looks ridiculous. Are you making this same mistake? Consider yourself very lucky because men and women toil hours in the gym to lose weight while you have been blessed with a skinny frame by birth. All you need to do to carry off the perfect look is to wear clothes that are comfortable. Not too tight, not too skinny, just the right fight. How easy was that?
