What not to wear on the first date – for men
63
The first date is the most important date with your woman. Guys, we will remember this date forever. You'd want to make sure that you wear the right clothes for the first date. Now now, this hub is not about 'What you should wear on your first date', but it is about what not to wear. Avoid these clothing blunders on your first date and impress your lady love by keeping in mind these tips from us women to you men.
Don't wear a Formal Suit on the first date. You're not going into a boardroom meeting.
Don't wear a Polo Tshirt and Formal Pants on the first date. You are not Tiger Woods.
Don't wear an over-sized Tshirt. Eminem or 50 Cent may be able to carry it off in a rap music video. You are neither. Nor are we in a rap music video.
Don't wear Phat Pants on the first date. Reserve your psychedelic personality for rave parties, not for a romantic date.
Don't wear a Body hugging Tshirt on the first date. You may have been working out just for this moment, but you can show your toned body to us in the bedroom, not at the café.
Don't wear a Sleeveless Tshirt on the first date. There is a difference between going on a romantic date and going on the beach.
Don't wear Tennis Shorts on the first date. Unless you are Roger Federer.
Don't wear Leather Pants on the first date. Just don't.
Don't wear Torn Denims on the first date. We know they look very cool, but you can probably save your favorite pair of old and torn denims for the second date.
Don't wear a Pink T-shirt or a Pink Shirt on the first date. Don't confuse us.
Don't wear a Tie on the first date. A first date is a romantic rendezvous, not a job interview.
Don't wear Three-Quarter Pants on the first date. It may be a casual date, but we'd like it if you put some love into your attire.
Don't wear a Hoodie on the first date. You are not Justin Bieber.
Don't wear Flip-Flops on the first date. Unless your romantic date is by the pool or at the beach.
Don't wear your Favorite High School Letterman Jacket on your first date. We can imagine that you hung out with the cool crowd back in high school, but we are not high school chicks any more.
Don't wear Extra Skinny Jeans on your first date. We'd like to see your personality before we see your package.
Don't wear Plaid Pants on your first date. Plaid Pants, really?

Ha Ha! yes you're welcome! Always say it, how I see it! :) Again I just thought really is disgusting is stained clothes. You filled with food stains, and grease, and grime, not to appealing. Who wants to hug the dirty looking slob! lol
My goodness I agree 100% on this hub - making a good 1st impression is very important.
Gr8 Hub - I voted it up and awesome
OMG, I love this piece. One of the things that attracted me to my husband was his great sense of style. I never looked at it from the "male" point of view, but I've learned a lot from him over the years. Although I got him covered, my brothers drive me crazy! Dear P, now you have to write a hub about how they should dress (or shouldn't) AFTER the first date! LOL
Awesome..!!!
These are some great tips for men and I agree with all of them. I think it would be great if you wrote a hub about what they should wear as well. I voted this up, useful, and funny!

hmm, most are correct, but a hoody, or wholes in knees isn't that bad of a deal with a first date. Depends on where you're going too. Fortunately clothes really don't have anything to do with whether you like someone, but of course depends on the girls tastes, and what kind of guy she's dating in the first place. Some men know how to dress, and some don't. Again just depends on the person and circumstances. I agree with most of your list, but the few I stated. Hoodies if your talking sweatshirts are just common in michigan to keep warm on chilly nights in the summer. If a guy gave me his hoody to keep warm and he knew I was cold, all the better, but I always loved wearing my boyfriends hoodies. Now pink isn't that bad. Lots of business men wear pink. I think only people that are bothered with that color are people that are homophobic. Doesn't mean your gay, and who if you go to any business men's departement you will find pastel colors pink, purple, orange etc. lol Can't even know a pastor that wears salmon an pink dress shirts. Bright yellow or orange is more of an eye sore. lol I'd be like dude, I can see you with out the bright colors. Can't remember any of my first dates, wearing anything special, but a nice t-shirt, hoody, and jeans. The cologne on the other hand that is got to be some good smelling stuff, and draws my attention, more than clothes, and oh god, I like clean shaving faces. lol nothing like kissing and getting whisker burn, your chin gets raw, red, and irritated. That is just my preference anyway. lol Not a facial hair kind of person. lol Well it all depends on what kind of chic you are, lol if you are and underground chic, you don't like well dressed men. lol Just like if you're a well dressed chic, you don't like grunge. Think it's hard to wrap up what kind of clothing to wear when we all have different tastes. Some like belly rings, tatoos, ear, nose piercings. It's just about what you're attracted too. lol
